Here at Jaguar Huntsville, once reports of an SVR-tuned F-Type began rolling out, we were cautiously optimistic that it would become a reality. Now, Jaguar has blown the top off that with the full unveiling of the newest addition to the F-Type lineup.
The 2017 F-Type SVR will come with all of the goodies we expected, including a highly tuned version of the leaping cat's existing 5.0-liter supercharged V-8. This powerplant is good for a whopping 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque--25 extra horsepower relative to the R model. What's more, it is also as much as 110 pounds lighter than the R with the available carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-fiber roof, and carbon-fiber pack.
The 2017 F-Type SVR will launch in the summer of 2016 with a starting price of $125,950 for the coupe and $128,800 for the convertible.
